About Organisers

The ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) is a cooperative regional effort to promote the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) as one tourist destination. This annual event involves all of the tourism industry sectors of the 10 member states of ASEAN: Brunei-Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam.

ATF was established in 1981. Each year, the hosting of ATF is rotated among the member countries.

The Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism (MICT) is one of the government organisations of the Lao PDR headed by H.E Suanesavanh VIGNAKET. The Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism is playing a role to act as a secretariat for representing the government for the macro management on Information, Culture and Tourism nationwide under the vision of dynamic leadership, effective management, modernized information, civilized culture and sustainable tourism.

The ASEAN Tourism Association (ASEANTA) was formed on 27th March 1971 as a non-profit tourism association comprising 35 members from both public and private tourism sector organization, such as national travel associations, national hotel associations, airlines and National Tourism Organisations from ASEAN countries. ASEANTA plays an integral role in shaping travel and tourism development within the ASEAN region in line with the ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan.
